Just A Month Or So Ago

To start off Mr. Yankee's MBA, he went through a grueling week of business classes that started at 7 am and ended at 11 pm. In preparation for this week, I asked my Mom to come visit so I wouldn't be alone all day. The timing worked out well for everyone, so my mom, dad, sister, and niece all were able to come.

Since I had only been in the north for all of two weeks and 90% of that time was spent unpacking and the other 10% was spent in Maine, everything was brand spankin new to me as well! We had fun exploring the city and taking tours. I learned the subway routes and where a few things were, but I use those terms very loosely.

We told Mr. Yankee to have fun in school and went on our way to have some fun of our own.

We played in the splash pad.

And got more wet than baby whimsy and baby gator combined.

They left a little traumatized from the shooting water that hit their faces and heads.

Baby gator sought comfort in baby whimsy.

Baby whimsy offered him one her pretzel.

Baby gator decided eat his button instead.

We took a harbor cruise and they even got to steer the boat. However, they were not pleased with this experience and both decided to cry.

Could have been a priceless picture for the future.

If only, if only......

We fished out some lobstah from the ocean, cooked em, and ate em all up.

Of course I'm only kidding....

We scarfed them down.

"Hi Grandpa."

"I kinda like you."

"I kinda like you too Whimsy."

"Gator what uh, watcha doin there..."

 "WHAT IS HAPPENING......"

Traumatized.

"This spot looks even better....."

"Yum."

Andddd that was our week.

First Taste Of Atlantic

Instead of trying to find the best local restaurant in Maine, we thought we could take a foodie tour and sample a little from many different places.

We were hoping to eat a little lobster.....

Maybe a lobster rolls....

A little clam chowder....

An oyster here and there...

Hungry yet?

Well we were. After all we ate light so we could fill up on all the amazing seafood we were about to eat.

Boy we were wrong.

On our foodie tour we ate none of the above items and left a little hungry. We did however get to see and learn about some pretty unique local places, so it made up for not getting to eat some tasty seafood!

We met this fella a local fish market.

We decided to take matters into our own hands and treat ourselves to some local lobster since we didn't eat any on our tour.

Baby gator didn't know what to think of this new creature.

Was it a toy? Something to chew on? And why did it smell soooo tasty?

He then got a little frustrated that he wasn't able to have any lobstah as the locals call it, and decided to hang his head in disappointment.

While we toured Acadia National Park we found a spot for baby gator to touch his toes in the water.......and not just any water, the Atlantic Ocean! Next up, the Pacific! Just kidding, at least I think I am....
